Mulkun-ri Bangpoong Rim, in Namhae, Kyoungnam Province

During the Corea Dynasty, about 80,000 latifoliate trees were planted by the sea of Namhae to block the wind. Stretching along the shore for about 1km, the wood protects the area against numerous typhoons and also provides a cool shelter for the villagers in the hot summer.

Photo is that of a typical view of Namhaedo, with its countless islands that look like small dots. ...Photo by Ahn Joong-kuk
