Kwangheemun or Sugumun Gate was built in 1396 (in the 5th year of King T'aejo) as one of the eight gates of the capital wall. The gate was use for dead corpses to be taken out from the capital. In the late 19th Century, when Catholics were persecuted, martyrs were all kicked out from Hanyang through Kwangheemun. The gate is at Changchung-dong, Seoul.
