Sungkyunkwan University, Jonkyeong-gak and Sungkyunkwan Jonkyeong-gak and Sungkyunkwan, on the campus of Sungkyunkwan University, are only a 10-minute walk from Changgyeong-gun. Sungkyunkwan was founded in 1398 as a National University during the reign of the Joseon Dynasty's first king, Taejo. Its original purpose was to teach Confucianism, which was a national subject of study at that time. Today, it is continuing its legacy as Sungkyunkwan University. Since 1992 it has been operating a class in Korean courtesy. Anyone can learn appropriate ways of bowing, dressing in the national clothes, drinking tea, and many other subjects related to traditional courtesies. You will also be given a chance to learn about traditional games and how to play them. Marronnier Park Another 15-minute walk from Sungkyunkwan University brings you to Marronnier Park. You can also find it by taking subway line 4 to Hyehwa station and exiting through gate 2. Marronnier Park is a place for the young generation and many performances and events take place around the park, keeping it crowded every weekend. New and fresh songs by amateur singers are performed on the outdoor stage, and street artists under the trees draw pictures of the visitors.
