The Korean people's food,
Sollongtang

S

ollongtang is made using meat from a bull's head which is stewed for some time in water in a large steel saucepan. According to Choson Dynasty records the tradition of making Sollongtang dates back to Sejong, the 4th King of the dynasty (1392-1910), who made it with meat from sacrifices. He allegedly ate it while isolated by strong storms when he was on a prayer journey for an abundant harvest.

Sollongtang is cooked overnight in a large steel pan until the soup changes to a milky color and is completed by adding salt, chopped green onions and peppers to the meat. Some serve rice and radish kimchi, called gakdugi with it. The warm and hot taste of Sollongtang causes the body to relax after eating.
